WASP and MC A – Mario Cucinella Architects have embarked on the construction of an innovative model for a 3D printed habitat and will be launching the first prototype near Bologna, Italy. Born from a vision to provide a home for everyone at a time of exponential population increase and an associated lack of affordable housing, TECLA is a new circular housing model, created using entirely reusable, recyclable materials taken from the local terrain. Built using Crane WASP – the latest innovation in on-site 3D construction, TECLA represents a step-change in the move towards eco-housing.

DSM, Royal HaskoningDHV and CEAD design first lightweight 3D printed bridge using FRP

Royal HaskoningDHV, CEAD and DSM today announced that they have designed the first lightweight 3D printed FRP pedestrian bridge prototype using a composite material. It consists of a glass filled thermoplastic PET (Arnite®) and is combined with continuous glass fibres which are added in the 3D printing process. This unique combination offers high strength with extreme versatility and sustainability.

CREATE Group announces the completion of the world´s first 3D Printed bio-reactor featuring at the Centre Pompidou in Paris

The CREATE Group from the University of Southern Denmark and WASP Hub Denmark announces the completion of HORTUS_XL | Astaxanthin.g, the world´s first 3D Printed bio-reactor, designed by ecoLogicStudio and developed in a research partnership with and the Synthetic Landscape Lab at Innsbruck University.
