AddUp presents FormUp 700, a large four-laser machine demonstrator

AddUp continues its strategy of increasing productivity for its FormUp® machine line. At the FormNext show, the manufacturer presents a part made on FormUp® 700, an industrial demonstrator of LBM (laser beam melting) machine equipped with a large platform and multi-laser technology. This first demonstrator was developed for IREPA Laser, a reference technology resource center in France for the implementation of industrial laser manufacturing processes. AddUp and IREPA Laser are partners in a research and development project on high productivity.

The demonstrator features a production volume of 700 x 350 x 500 mm and a 500 watt four-laser fusion system with three-axis scanners (each laser can cover the entire width of the tray). These features, combined with an ultra-
fast layering system, enable it to achieve an extremely high level of productivity.
Like the FormUp® 350 machine from which it inherits certain components, this demonstrator can be equipped with different spreading devices (roller, scraper or brushes), allowing it to work with most of the metal powders on the market, from the finest to the largest. It has a system of fumes capture and passivation with a service life of more than one year. Finally, its integrated powder supply system with inerted sieving has a triple advantage: the ability to refill the machine without interrupting production, reduced powder contact for operators, and reduced powder oxidation.
