MakerBot Expands Distributor Network with Unitum Group BV

Collaboration Expands Availability of the METHOD Platform, Accessories, and Materials to More Customers Across Benelux

MakerBot, a global leader in 3D printing and subsidiary of Stratasys (Nasdaq: SSYS), has entered into an agreement with the Unitum Group to distribute the MakerBot METHOD 3D printing platform across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg (Benelux) through its Distrinova division.

Distrinova is a specialized distributor of 3D printing solutions in the Benelux region for a number of 3D printer companies and filament suppliers. By adding MakerBot 3D printers, accessories, and materials to its portfolio, Distrinova can deliver even more powerful 3D printing technologies to engineers, designers, and other professionals who need them the most. As part of the collaboration, Distrinova now offers the full METHOD platform, including the METHOD and METHOD X 3D Printers, METHOD Carbon Fiber Editions, METHOD accessories, and METHOD materials, as well as the company’s educational 3D printing solutions, through its extensive network of channel partners.

“We are very proud to introduce MakerBot and the METHOD technology into our product portfolio. With the METHOD range we can provide our resellers network not only reliable, state-of-the-art 3D printers, but also the opportunity to offer their customers high value-added solutions for a broad range of new application areas. In addition, the introduction of MakerBot corresponds perfectly with Distrinovas’ strategy to develop strong partnerships with the leading innovative global manufacturers of 3D printers,” said Guy Van der Celen, CEO of Unitum Group BV.

“Our collaboration with Distrinova is another step for us as we continue to make industrial-level 3D printing more accessible to users around the world. With years of experience in additive manufacturing technologies and a wide network, we believe Distrinova offers a strong link between manufacturers and customers in the region,” said Leonardo Rodrigues, General Manager EMEA, MakerBot.

The METHOD platform features industrial 3D printing capabilities that make it ideal for printing with advanced, engineering-grade materials. The combination of a heated chamber, ultra-rigid steel frame, sealed material bays, performance extruders, and dissolvable supports enable engineers to print consistently accurate parts. Since the METHOD X has a higher chamber temperature than METHOD of up to 110°C on the build plane, it can support a wider range of high-performance materials.

The METHOD Carbon Fiber Editions print carbon fiber-reinforced nylon that is optimized for high strength and heat resistance. The new METHOD and METHOD X Carbon Fiber Editions come pre-configured with a new composite extruder that is optimized to handle abrasive materials. The new composite extruder is also available as a standalone product and is compatible with the METHOD and METHOD X 3D Printers.

In addition to Nylon Carbon Fiber, METHOD offers a diverse portfolio of materials for a variety of engineering applications, including PC-ABS, PC-ABS FR, ABS, ASA, Nylon, and SR-30. Additionally, with the availability of the MakerBot LABS extruder for METHOD, users can print with more industrial materials from leading material suppliers.
