Henkel and Carbon further expand their strategic partnership and customers benefit from improved materials as well as new opportunities for 3D printing

Henkel and Carbon announce the expansion of their strategic partnership, with new resins expected to be available on Carbon's 'Idea-to-Production' platform from 2023. The partnership expansion builds on the successful 2020 launch of LOCTITE IND405 Clear, a robust clear resin used in the production of enclosures and trim.

The new resin, Loctite IND147, whose compatibility with carbon technology was validated with the launch of Formnext 2022 on 15/11, is a photopolymer resin with high strength and temperature resistance. It was developed for product designers and engineers who need a quick and easy way to print moulds, fixtures and finished tools with smooth surfaces that can be used at high temperatures in industrial, consumer goods and automotive markets.

The strategic partnership combines Carbon's open materials platform and DLS printing process with Henkel's materials expertise, offering customers an expanded portfolio of resins while expanding manufacturing capabilities for end-use parts. Additional resins are also expected to be available from 2023.

"Expanding our partnership with Carbon builds on the success we have achieved together and builds on our focus on production applications and improved end-use parts for our customers," said Sam Bail, director of 3D printing sales at Henkel. "Carbon's platform allows us to offer LOCTITE 3D Printing's unique industrial resins to create greater value for our customers."

"We have shared many successes with Henkel and are excited to further expand our partnership with new resins," added Jason Rolland, SVP of Materials at Carbon. "With this partnership, Carbon offers the most comprehensive portfolio of single- and dual-cure resins in the industry, providing customers with an open solution to make better products in less time."
