Call for Speakers for Formnext's new multistage conference concept

With a new structure, Formnext has adapted its conference concept to the increasing demand for more knowledge transfer and a more in-depth exchange and, from 2023, will be dedicated to current and future applications, technologies and relevant metatrends simultaneously on three stages.

With the new Application, Industry and Technology Stages, the world's leading trade fair for the next generation of manufacturing and additive manufacturing technologies is significantly expanding its supporting programme and taking the trade fair experience to a new level. Interested users can now apply to Formnext with their contributions.

The various stages, which are freely accessible to all trade fair visitors and stakeholders, create an excellent insight and overview of the most important topics in the AM industry. This ranges from exciting applications from various industries from medicine to aerospace and construction. In addition, the latest technologies will be presented by exhibitors at Formnext. Important overarching topics such as sustainability, skills shortages and financing will also be discussed and explored in depth by leading experts and executives in the form of lectures, but also panel discussions.

Cross-sector and cross-technology
For Formnext, the new conference concept is the next logical step in the further development of the trade fair and will further promote the important exchange between technology suppliers and users. "This will enable us to even better meet the demand from the industry that we experienced last year and at the same time create even more space for exchange, transfer of knowledge and experience," explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at the organiser Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. With the various stages, Formnext also presents the entire process chain across all important sectors in the conference programme and maps AM manufacturing both horizontally and vertically throughout.

Focus on applications
On the Application Stage, exciting applications from various sectors will be presented in different thematic blocks, each with four 20-minute lectures: from mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry, aerospace, medical technology and electrical engineering to tool and mould making and automation. For each industry, the entire process chain from material to pre-processing, additive production to post-processing and quality assurance will be highlighted.

Interdisciplinary exchange
The Industry Stage focuses on interdisciplinary exchange with industry experts and sector representatives. Current, formative topics such as sustainability and digitalisation will be presented in a keynote, explored in greater depth in "Expert Insights" and further discussed in a "Panel Discussion". The agenda also includes key AM topic areas such as intellectual property, DfAM (Design for AM), business opportunities, start-ups and fundings, as well as current cross-industry topics such as cyber security, skills shortages and supply chain resilience. In addition, the Industry Stage also addresses new emerging technologies such as bioprinting and 3D printing of food or medicine, and can also contribute to bringing together global business issues and additive manufacturing.

The AM offer and the process chain in depth
The dynamic further development of generative technologies is also constantly leading to new solutions on the manufacturer side and along the process chain. Formnext exhibitors will present these at the Technology Stage. On each day of the fair, innovations from the areas of materials, pre-processing, AM production and post-processing will be presented in a morning and an afternoon session.

The "Call for Speakers" starts now. Proposals for contributions can be submitted via the Call for Speakers form by 30.06.2023 at the latest.
