Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA) and Aden Group, one of the largest integrated facilities management companies in Asia, today announced their plan to collaborate on the development of a turnkey, out-of-the-box solution for infection clinics. Especially in countries that are severely affected by COVID-19 and are in urgent need of high quality medical facilities, this solution, called Akila Care, is designed to be quickly implemented and easily operated. The new initiative comes against the background of the hospital in Wuhan, which was successfully built in just a few days.
The two companies are working together to develop new processes for the planning, construction and operation of hospitals. They are using Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the intelligent and networked Akila Care hospital concept from Aden Group. The solution is based on a virtual environment for the design, simulation and development of hospitals that are built and ready for use within 100 days and can remain in operation for many years. This is accompanied by optimisation of operation and maintenance throughout the entire life cycle. As part of the collaboration, the two cooperation partners intend to form a consortium with other companies specializing in medical equipment, engineering and construction.
"In the fight against COVID-19, determination and swift action are crucial. The combination of a rapidly deployable modular architecture with a digital platform will accelerate the construction of a state-of-the-art medical facility and ensure that it is fully functional in record time," said Francois Amman and Joachim Poylo, both co-founders of Aden Group. "On the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we are developing a solution that will enable us to reduce engineering changes, meet a tight development schedule and meet delivery commitments quickly and effectively. In addition, the maintenance and safety of the hospital is to be guaranteed in the long term in view of further pandemics".
The hospital solution being sought provides a virtual collaboration environment in which employees and suppliers can use a virtual twin of a hospital to optimize space planning, module design, negative pressure isolation rooms and other features, simulate manufacturing and equipment, and pre-train construction. Once the hospital is built, the solution is used for digital asset management. This involves connecting the facility to state-of-the-art medical equipment to monitor digitalized hygiene procedures and cleaning robots.
