Digital Manufacturing is Transforming Factories Globally

The latest finding of the ongoing end-user analysis on Industrie 4.0 will be presented during Frost & Sullivan's online conference

The future factory will be a self-optimised automatic system. Different production stages will be connected together in a functionary system using wireless technologies. Manufacturing process will become flexible and intelligent. This futuristic consent is commonly referred to Industrie 4.0.The advent of this new industrial paradigm has articulated a clear vision for the future in Europe, creating a need for strategic foresight amongst industrial suppliers.

Frost & Sullivan will be hosting a complimentary web conference "Industrie 4.0: Preparing Tomorrow's Digital Manufacturing" and will detail the significance of end-user's perspectives on Industrie 4.0 as well as suggest a new business approach for all suppliers in the industrial value-chain. The online conference will take place on Tuesday, 23 September 2014 at 15:00 CET. Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Deepak Achuthashankar will present the on-going analysis on Industrie 4.0.

Industries 4.0 is a platform that enables the unification of information amongst participants in the entire value chain – from product inception to design, manufacturing, services and even refurbishment. The functional enablers of Industrie 4.0 are Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Services and Integrated Industries.

During the upcoming web conference, Frost & Sullivan's expert will address several important questions:

How will Industries 4.0 impact companies?
Will the emergence of IoT and Big Data alter the competitive landscape?
What are the major new business models expected to emerge in the future?
What is missing in this new industrial paradigm?

"End-user friendly mass production will define the reality of the manufacturing process globally. In the future factory, each production stage will be connected via internet, making the whole process more flexible and catering for relatively fast feedback from end-users. Manufacturers should, therefore, be ready to redesign their processes according to customer needs as quickly as possible. The product lifecycle will be even shorter and the connection between producers and customers will become stronger. Information and Communication Technologies will offer this flexibility," states Frost & Sullivan Industrial Automation & Process Control Analyst Deepak Achuthashankar. "Facing this new reality, manufacturers will have to reorganise current business and operational strategies in order to remain profitable in the changing environment. Frost & Sullivan's ongoing comprehensive analysis of end-user needs will assist with overcoming the difficulties and challenges Industrie 4.0 can present."
