PennWell Corp. — One of the most internationally recognized figures in modern science, Michio Kaku, will deliver the keynote address for the 25th anniversary of North America's largest electricity transmission and distribution show. DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition will run Feb. 3-5, 2015, at the San Diego Convention Center.
As DistribuTECH attendees celebrate the past 25 years, Kaku will give a glimpse into what he expects of the next 25 years.
"Dr. Kaku is a modern-day Einstein, so his predictions will be enlightening, weighty and very entertaining," said Teresa Hansen, DistribuTECH chairwoman and editor in chief of Electric Light & Power and POWERGRID International magazines. "We're also looking forward to hearing from Jeff Martin, the CEO of San Diego Gas & Electric, who will welcome us to his beautiful city, and we've invited Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz to speak, as well."
After the keynote, DistribuTECH's 85 conference sessions will begin and run through Thursday. Sessions are broken into 15 "tracks," or topics, and cover everything from big data and analytics to defending the grid to international smart grid projects and water utility technologies. Nearly every session will include at least one utility presenter.
