Premieres, tastings, competitions or lectures: Everyone will get their money's worth at the supporting programme of this year's drinktec, which will be held at the Messe München exhibition centre from 12 to 16 September. The special feature here is the unique mix between specialist lectures and discussions on the one hand and live programmes, competitions and championships on the other.
"Inspiration hubs" take place for the first time
This year, for example, the "Inspiration hubs" in Halls A3 and C6 will celebrate their premiere at the world's leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid-food industry. For the first time, exhibitors will have the opportunity to give presentations in the form of "best practice sharing" and "learning" in exchange with the community.
Start-up platform celebrates premiere
In addition to the "Inspiration Hubs", there will be another premiere this year, namely the newly integrated start-up platform. In cooperation with the Drink Innovation Campus (DICA), young companies can present their creative and innovative ideas here for the first time. A comprehensive supporting programme with pitches, networking events and co-creation workshops offers many opportunities to present themselves to the international trade audience.
drinktec - the meeting place for championships
As at previous events, the World Beer Sommelier Championships will be held on the day before the fair opens, i.e., on 11 September, at Conference Center Nord. Other highlights include the European Beer Star, the winners of which will be honoured at drinktec on Wednesday, 14 September and celebrated with the Night of Winners, and the German Hobby Brewers' Championship, the winners of which will be presented and honoured on 15 September at 4.30 pm.
No drinktec without tastings
But what would a trade fair like drinktec be without expert tastings? The opportunity for this is offered at the "New Beverage Concepts" with the tasting of new recipes or ingredients. Meanwhile, in the "place2beer", trade fair participants can meet for a casual chat and at the same time taste a - as the name suggests - beer or other beverages and even edible oils.

oils+fats is held parallel to drinktec as a "trade fair within a trade fair". The special show benefits from the comprehensive range of filling and packaging technology on offer at drinktec, the world's leading trade fair for the sector, and is designated as a special area in Hall C3. On 16 September, the Oilseed Forum at oils+fats will focus on the question "What general conditions will determine the future development of sales and prospects for oilseed cultivation?
