Conference To Bring Entrepreneurs, Investors, & Celebrities To Bay Area
Winners of Think Beyond Plastic competition have been selected and will be announced on June 13(th), at the inaugural conference and awards ceremony. Think Beyond Plastic is a competition for products, services, materials and infrastructure solutions that result in a measurable reduction in plastic pollution. Over 100 submissions from around the globe were received this year.
The awards ceremony will follow a conference exploring how disruptive technologies, viral behavior change and youth leadership can address major threats such as plastic pollution. Guest speakers at the conference are Adam Werbach, Daniel Goleman, Dan Imhoff, Fran Seegull, Leandro Herrero and Prashanth Ramakrishna. The Master of Ceremonies is Ed Begley, Jr. and guest appearances include Emily Levine and Ellyn and Robbie. The event is open to the public to attend.
"The breadth of ideas and geographical reach of the submissions was inspirational. We are really excited to present the winners and to focus on real solutions to plastic pollution," said Eben Bayer, Co-founder and CEO, Ecovative and a Think Beyond Plastic juror.
The winning solutions will receive prizes from A-Spark Good Ventures, Cooley Legal Services and Second Line Ventures.
