Together with industry experts the Association for Printing and Paper Technology is developing a specification for the determination of power consumption at web offset printing machines for commercial and newspaper printing.
Experts from Koenig & Bauer, manroland web systems, SID, FOGRA and bvdm met on 18th February in Frankfurt in order to discuss a proposal for the specification.
Uniformly determined figures for power consumption in connection with a uniform documentation shall support the dialog of machinery manufacturers and customers about energy values and shall help to present and understand influences on power consumption and significant interrelations. For the proof of enhancements of energy efficiency, e.g. in the framework of energy management systems, there is also a demand for uniformly determined energy values.
