Both German and U.S. directors of KBA print technology discuss UV development with commercial, packaging, and specialty converters and printers in March
KBA North America is pleased to announce that Dirk Winkler, its international director of the print technology department from Radebeul, Germany, and Chris Travis, director of technology in Dallas will be speaking at the Print UV 2015 conference. Now in its eighth year, Print UV 2015 will take place at the Encore by Wynn Resort in Las Vegas from March 1-3. KBA is a platinum sponsor and has been a key supporter of this important event since its inception eight years ago.
At the seminar entitled New UV Technology Impact on Sheetfed Press Manufacturers, Winkler will discuss how sheetfed press manufacturers, including KBA, design development and testing methodology and rigorous development procedures to put UV technologies such as HR-UV and LED-UV through an arduous process long before these technologies are ever declared ready-for-delivery. Winkler will offer his deep knowledge and experience as he discusses the LED process and what KBA and other press manufacturers do to qualify this new process before going to market.
Both Winkler and Travis will sit on a micro coating panel in which they will provide industry insight that focuses on new grit coatings applications. Their expert experience will shine a light on this difficult process and discuss how printers can use it and improve it in their pressrooms. The panel will also take a deeper look at soft-touch coatings and other improvements that are necessary in today's highly competitive print market.
Winkler is the director of KBA's entire development/process technology department and R&D center including the demonstration and training center, R&D center, and product management. He is responsible for process technology development, customer demos and training as well as global customer support with regard to application technology. Travis is the technology director at the Dallas facility where he supports the global sales team, product management, sales operations, field & factory demonstrations and oversees the KBA Customer Care Center all with a view on discussing and promoting new and future technology for KBA.
Catering to commercial, packaging, and specialty converters and printers, Print UV is the first industry event focused exclusively on the UV printing market.
