The German manufacturers of printing and paper technology who presented themselves on the joint VDMA stand in Sao Paulo at the ExpoPrint 2014 international trade exposition from 16 to 22 July 2014 are extremely satisfied. Products from Germany attract much interest. For Ronald Lein, Head of Sales of KAMA GmbH, "the exposition went really, really well. The quality and the number of visitors were high;" so he, like his colleagues, was very pleased about the mix of international visitors who came from all over Latin America.
"The ExpoPrint is the leading exposition of the graphic arts industry for the total Latin American continent. We see great potential for the printing industry in these countries," said Dr. Markus Heering, Managing Director of the VDMA Printing and Paper Technology Association, at the exposition. A study published in 2013 by PIRA, a market research institute for the international printing and paper industry, states that Latin America is the region with the highest growth rates. For the decade up till 2018, PIRA expects a growth of nearly 41 percent to 73.5 billion U.S. Dollar in Latin America. By then, the market in Brazil (which currently holds 9th rank) will probably take 7th rank and thus, according to PIRA, leave the European markets of Italy and France behind.
On the joint VDMA stand, leading manufacturers like Huber, IKS Klingelnberg (a member of the TKM Group), Kama, Kolbus, Kugler-Womako, Manroland, Mosca, D.W. Renzmann and Winkler+Dünnebier seized the opportunity to present themselves at the ExpoPrint 2014 under the label "Quality Made in Germany". Since exports of German printing technology to Brazil fell significantly short of the expectations set for last year, the exhibitors now hope for a major revival of the market. The orders received at the ExpoPrint 2014 could be an indication thereof.
