Certiport , a Pearson VUE business, the leading test delivery solution provider for the global workforce and academic markets, today announces the 2014 AdobeÒ Certified Associate (ACA) U.S. National Champions. The winners will travel to Anaheim, California to compete in the ACA World Championship from July 27 – 30, 2014. Students entered the competition by earning their ACA certification and submitting a design project they created using their advanced digital design skills.

The U.S. winners are as follows:

Amir Hammoudeh, Austin High School, Texas
Javier Salazar, Southwest Career and Technical Academy, Nevada
Vanessa Vilchez, Americas High School, Texas

At the ACA World Championship, 32 student competitors from 17 countries will compete to showcase their proficiency in utilizing industry-leading Adobe software for digital media development. They will participate in a real-world design challenge for Kiva, a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the Internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.

For their final design challenge, ACA World Championship student competitors will be asked to envision they have been hired by Kiva to create a poster using Adobe software. They will be given instructions and visual assets such as the Kiva logo and imagery and will able to use Adobe PhotoshopÒ, Adobe IllustratorÒ and Adobe InDeisgnÒ to create the final project.

"The students who compete in the ACA World Championship are not only creative, they are efficient users of Adobe software, a valuable and marketable real-world skill," said Bob Whelan, president and chief executive officer for Pearson VUE. "We believe Kiva will be able to use the projects that are created for the competition to market their cause, and look forward to seeing the students in action."

Winners will be announced at the ACA World Championship Awards Ceremony on July 30, streamed live from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PST
