CEWE expands Europe's most modern printing location in Dresden

Production of LASERLINE from Berlin moves

CEWE, Europe's market leader in photofinishing and a specialist in commercial online printing, is strengthening Dresden as a printing location: from the middle of the year large parts of the orders from the Berlin printing specialist LASERLINE are also to be printed at SAXOPRINT in the Saxon state capital.

Over the past few years SAXOPRINT has developed into the most modern online printing plant in Europe with numerous investments. Over 500 employees take care of production and sales in nine European countries.

Nothing changes for the customers of the Berlin LASERLINE: Service and sales as well as direct collection remain in the accustomed quality. Martin Stedler, Managing Director LASERLINE: "There will be no reduction in the performance and quality of our services. On the contrary, we want to significantly expand our sales in Berlin and will always be available for our regional customers on site. By relocating production to our partner SAXOPRINT, we are leveraging synergies and can print much more efficiently.

Klaus Sauer, Managing Director of SAXOPRINT: "I am pleased that the orders from LASERLINE enable us to pool CEWE's expertise in online printing in Dresden. This gives us the opportunity to plan and produce even more efficiently. We are already in a position to optimally distribute orders from the CEWE brands SAXOPRINT, viaprinto and cewe-print.de to our print jobs with state-of-the-art software".

Carsten Heitkamp, CEWE Board of Management member: "Commercial online printing remains a strategic focus for CEWE. We see good growth prospects for the coming years in this business segment. Our various sales brands serve different customer groups, while production is concentrated at SAXOPRINT in Dresden. With this strategy we are well positioned for the future".

The approximately 60 employees from production at LASERLINE have the opportunity to continue working at SAXOPRINT in Dresden or at other production locations of the CEWE Group. In Berlin, the relocation of production is to be compensated by an expansion of the sales and service departments.
