Dr. Hönle AG takes over STERILSYSTEMS GmbH. The Hönle Group thus significantly expands its activities in the life science segment. As a consequence of the pandemic, sensitivity to and global demand for sterilisation solutions has increased significantly. As one of the largest UV suppliers, the Management Board sees very good prospects for the Hönle Group in this interesting growth market.
STERILSYSTEMS GmbH, Mauterndorf, Austria, has been one of the pioneers in the development of highly effective UVC systems for air and surface disinfection, water disinfection and odour neutralisation for more than 30 years. The UV lamps reliably combat viruses, bacteria and fungi and achieve germicidal rates of up to 99.999 %. The environmentally friendly UV disinfection is chemical-free and leaves no residues. The company has grown strongly in recent years and achieved an EBIT margin of approximately 20 %. The Management Board expects continued strong sales and earnings growth in the coming years, particularly due to increased sensitivity with regard to disinfection solutions.
STERILSYSTEMS is active in 36 countries worldwide in addition to the home market Austria.
The completion of the takeover of STERILSYSTEMS is planned for October 1, 2020. The consolidation of STERILSYSTEMS GmbH is also expected to take place on October 1, 2020. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
