100 years of helping each other - KLINGELE - Tempo Technik Teamwork
The Klingele Paper & Packaging Group, headquartered in Remshalden near Stuttgart, launched the "100 Years For Each Other" fundraising campaign in its anniversary year 2020 and donated a total of around 50,000 euros to individuals and projects in Germany, the Netherlands, mainland Spain and the Canary Islands.
100 projects were to be supported in the 100th anniversary year - in fact, more than 110 projects were supported with between 150 and 500 euros each. Employees of the packaging manufacturer submitted suggestions for donation projects from their private environment, their club life or non-profit organisations. Youth welfare, social welfare, health, animal welfare, education, sports - projects from very different areas received a commitment: A single parent who cannot afford an urgently needed purchase; an association in need of support due to the Corona crisis; an animal relief campaign or jerseys and balls for a children's football team, all at a wide variety of locations from East Frisia to Tenerife.
The Klingele Paper & Packaging Group thus enabled its employees to do good in their local communities. The patron of the fundraising campaign is Fiona Klingele, the sister of managing partner Dr Jan Klingele. She is pleased about the diversity of ideas and the trust of the employees in the management: "With the support of our employees, we may not have been able to move the world, but we were able to help many people. For that, our warmest thanks!"
Ludger Beische from our corrugated cardboard plant in Werne had put us in touch with the outpatient hospice group in Werne: The volunteers give time to families with seriously ill and dying people, relieve them and are also available for discussions during mourning. Financial needs for the hospice group arise from the upkeep of the business premises as well as for reimbursement of travel costs and public relations work, but above all for the further training of the volunteers. "Training and further education for the volunteers are important, but good lecturers from outside are unfortunately expensive," explains Annette Alfermann, coordinator of the hospice group. "It is also important to us right now to give small gifts to the volunteers who do their work well despite Corona. We therefore also see the donation as recognition of our team's work, and are very happy about it."
For example, the project submitted by Karina Crespo Suarez from our Spanish subsidiary Ondunova, which also received a grant, had a current cause - namely protection against Corona viruses. She lives in the town of Sitges in the autonomous region of Catalonia. "Classes started again in our town on 14 September, and in order to meet hygiene requirements, schools must be equipped with sufficient disinfectants. But there were not enough funds available for this in our municipality," explains Crespo Suarez. "With the Klingele donation totalling 250 euros, four schools and two institutes will now be equipped with disinfectant gels and a corresponding number of refill packs. I am very pleased that my employer is supporting the safe running of schools in my home town in this way."
