Qualcomm Appoints Michelle Sterling to Executive Vice President of Human Resources

Dan Sullivan to retire after more than 23 years of service to the Company

Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the appointment of Michelle Sterling as executive vice president of Human Resources, joining Qualcomm's executive committee, and the retirement of Dan Sullivan, executive vice president of Human Resources. Sterling's appointment will be effective May 4, 2015 and she will report directly to Steve Mollenkopf, chief executive officer of Qualcomm Incorporated. Sullivan will serve in an advisory role to support the transition until his retirement at the end of the year.

Sterling joined Qualcomm in 1994 and throughout her tenure has provided HR leadership, strategy and support to nearly all areas of the company, including manufacturing, corporate functions and business divisions, as well as new and emerging businesses. During this time, she also has worked on complex business transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures. In her current role, Sterling oversees HR Operations, International HR, Global Inclusion & Diversity, Employee Relations, HR Systems and Talent Analytics. Sterling holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands, is a recipient of the TWIN (Tribute to Women and Industry) award and is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for Serving Seniors.

Sullivan has led Qualcomm's HR organization since joining Qualcomm in 1992, and has served as executive vice president for more than 13 years. He has been instrumental in building, developing and evolving the HR, Real Estate and Facilities and Security organizations through the many phases of Qualcomm's growth, business changes and global expansion. During his time leading the HR organization, Qualcomm has grown from a U.S.-based company of 700 employees to more than 30,000 today working around the world. Sullivan has also scaled the HR organization to ensure close business alignment and partnership, and has established the robust employee resources and programs that support our global workforce, earning Qualcomm many distinguished awards.
