Supervisory Board Appoints Joerg Hartmann as Managing Director of Konica Minolta Germany and Austria

The top manager with many years of IT experience sets organizational course with a new sales focus

The Konica Minolta Supervisory Board yesterday evening officially appointed Joerg Hartmann, previously COO (Chief Operations Officer), as Managing Director for Germany and Austria. Together with Tsuyoshi Yamazato, he will lead the company in the future. With focused sales teams, flatter hierarchies, and a more intensive digital transformation, he is setting up Konica Minolta for sustainable success.
Commenting on his future strategy, the 50-year-old managing director said: "We will again clearly focus on the document - both analogue and digital - and thus concentrate more on our core business.
In the office segment in particular, the digital transformation is leading the way towards cloud services. "This is where our traditional business and the IT Services division interlock, since in addition to products and solutions for document management, infrastructure and security offerings are also involved," continues Hartmann.
"Service is a crucial issue for us," says Hartmann. This includes not only Professional Services and Smart Managed Services, but also the remote management of customer systems, such as the Workplace Hub.
In the Professional Printing segment, too, there is a strong shift from analogue to digital printing. This is a good reason for Hartmann to invest here - just a few months before drupa.
When it comes to organizational changes, Hartmann is also interested in flatter hierarchies in order to be able to adapt more quickly to changes in the market. "Together with our employees, I am confident that we will successfully realign the company and thus decisively strengthen customer relations," says the manager.
Hartmann has been with the company since November 2018. He has many years of experience with leading companies in the IT sector. The graduate physicist has held senior positions at Hewlett Packard, Fujitsu and the Blackberry manufacturer Research in Motion, among others.
