New double tip at THIEME Drucksysteme

Neue DoppelspitzeTHIEME strengthens its printing systems division. In order to meet the growing market requirements, this division is now managed by a dual leadership.

Since July 1, Stefan Holzer and Daniel Scheer are the new heads of the Printing Systems Division. They take over this task from the long-time division manager Armin Gerland, who is leaving the company after ten years to take on a new professional challenge. With the new dual leadership, Thieme is reacting to the constantly growing market requirements, especially for industrial printing applications. Here Thieme wants to maintain and further expand its technological leadership.
Stefan Holzer, born in 1973, has been with the company since 2004. The graduate engineer for precision engineering (FH Furtwangen) began his work at Thieme as the designer of the M-Press, the first Thieme digital printing machine developed together with Agfa, and accompanied its further development from 2008 to 2013 as project manager. Afterwards he was responsible for various projects in the areas of screen and digital printing. As the new Head of the Printing Systems Business Unit, he is now responsible for the areas of design, control technology and production.
Daniel Scheer, born in 1971, joined Thieme in December 2019. The graduate industrial engineer (TU Berlin) previously held several professional positions as sales engineer, product manager and sales director in the printing industry and within the scope of these activities he was involved with coating systems, flexo printing and web offset printing presses, among other things. As the new Co-Head of the Printing Systems Division, Daniel Scheer is responsible for sales and service.
Same direction, more emphasis
"The management changes, but the direction of the division remains the same," affirms Daniel Scheer. Thieme will continue to concentrate on the two technologies screen printing and digital printing, whereby the application focus in both areas is on industrial printing. "In recent years, the impression could sometimes arise" that we would neglect our traditional segment, screen printing," admits Scheer. "This is not the case, however, because screen printing is an important and promising mainstay, especially for technical applications. Together with Stefan Holzer, I want to put the leading position and the know-how of Thieme in the screen printing sector back into focus".
The new business unit managers also see a need for action in the area of digital printing: "Some customers question the competitiveness of our solutions", Stefan Holzer stated. "Therefore, we must continue to perfect our digital printing technology and make it even more market-oriented." The focus remains on the development of customer-specific digital printing systems for industrial applications, based on a uniform machine platform with standard modules. "With 15 years of market experience, Thieme is excellently positioned in industrial digital printing," adds Daniel Scheer. "We want to continue to pursue the chosen path with emphasis and at the same time respond even more flexibly to the wishes and requirements of the markets.
Innovations from the Thieme Technical Center
Whether screen printing or digital printing - the Thieme technical center is the linchpin for customer-specific new developments. "With extensive tests on the machines available there, users can gain certainty that their planned production processes are feasible", says Stefan Holzer. "We want to further expand this offer of a development platform for our customers and partners and also integrate new technologies". The new business unit managers want to work together to strengthen and further advance the position of Thieme as a technologically leading company for industrial printing.
