Dow leaders honored for STEM excellence with 2021 HENAAC Awards

Dow (NYSE: Dow) today announced two leaders have been recognized with Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Conference (HENAAC) awards for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) excellence.

Dr. Lidaris San Miguel Rivera, senior technical support and development scientist for Dow Coatings Materials, and Dr. Lauren Jackson, analytical manager, were recently selected as recipients HENAAC awards, which are distributed by Great Minds in STEM (GMiS), an organization that seeks to highlight and honor the achievements of the nation’s best and brightest Hispanic engineers, scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists and technology experts.

Dr. San Miguel Rivera is being recognized in the Professional Achievement I category. Her chemical expertise has led to the development of innovative solutions across silicones applications that resulted in seven granted patents, eight external publications, seven conference presentations and more than 45 internal technology reports.

Dr. Jackson was selected for the Most Promising Engineer, Ph. D. category. She currently leads Dow’s Sustainability Global Analytical Center of Excellence and global multidisciplinary teams to deliver complete, multi-million-dollar analytical portfolios tied in chemical manufacturing.

Both are actively involved in multiple Dow STEM outreach and mentorship programs in addition to holding leadership positions within the Hispanic and Latin Network (HLN) employee resource group.

All 2021 honorees will be recognized during the virtual 33rd Annual GMiS Conference, “Frist Class Diversity, World Class STEM,” happening during October 11-22, 2021.

Numerous Dow employees have been honored with HENAAC Awards over the years, including Mauro Gregorio (2014), Ruth Figueroa (2016), Jose Obregon (2016), Andre Argenton (2017), Mauricio Guerra (2018), Carlos Villa (2019), Izabel Assis (2020), Leonardo Lopez (2020) and Eliezer Maldonado (2020).
