Contiweb creates new sales role in Northeastern Europe

Christof Mann appointed to support continued growth of Contiweb’s digital inkjet and packaging business

Contiweb, a specialist in state-of-the-art technologies for advanced drying, web-handling and web-processing, has today announced the appointment of Christof Mann to a new role within the company. Mann will join the team as Sales Manager for Northeastern Europe, including the DACH and Scandinavian regions. As the company continues to provide technology to drive productivity and efficiency improvements in digital inkjet and packaging production, Mann will assist Contiweb specifically with its continued growth in the these sectors.

Mann brings a wealth of industry specific knowledge to his new role, with 14 years’ experience at Heidelberg and a subsequent position with post-processing company Ferag, he has a broad network and invaluable experience of supporting customers in the region.

Mann’s focus on sales within the European region through previous roles means he is well equipped to position Contiweb as a partner to all the major players in the industry, including HP, Canon, Ricoh, Screen and Kodak. He comments: “Digital inkjet printing is now extremely well-established and the demand for shorter runs and faster turnarounds just continues. Now we see the market focusing on industrialization, we saw it some time ago in web offset and now digital printers are understanding how they can squeeze every efficiency and productivity advantage out of their press lines. It’s an exciting time to be working with Contiweb, which has the portfolio of equipment to support these changes.”

Contiweb’s non-stop unwinding and rewinding technology, the Contiweb DFA (Digital Fluid Applicator) and Contiweb VC (Variable Coater) are examples of the equipment Mann will be working with. Improving the quality of products and adding efficiencies, the range of technology can make significant impact to the bottom line for printers and packaging producers. Mann notes, “It’s technology like this, driving printing speeds forward, increasing productivity and reducing waste, that makes a real difference. Whether it’s squeezing efficiencies from an older press line when it’s not time to make large capital investments, or making a new press line absolutely cutting edge, Contiweb has a solution. The rapidly growing void fill paper and paper bag sectors, which use wide reels of paper and then convert these reels, are also seeing the benefits Contiweb technology can bring to the production line.”

Commenting on the appointment, Contiweb Sales Director Rob Bosman says “Christof joins us at an exciting time, as we have successfully established ourselves in the digital print sector. We are pleased to be growing this side of our business with this new role and his previous experience within the industry and his specialist knowledge of the European market will help to strengthen Contiweb’s position within the market.”
