Andy Wright Named Publisher of The New York Times Magazine

The New York Times today named Andy Wright publisher of The New York Times Magazine. In this role, Mr. Wright will be responsible for the generation of all of The Magazine's advertising revenue in print and online.

The appointment comes on the heels of The New York Times Magazine's hiring of editor-in-chief Jake Silverstein in March, and in advance of The Magazine's upcoming relaunch.
In making the announcement, Meredith Kopit Levien, executive vice president, advertising, The New York Times, said: "Andy is an exceptional leader with the experience and commitment needed to guide The New York Times Magazine's advertising business as it begins its transformation under new editorial leadership."

In addition, Mr. Wright will retain his role as senior vice president, advertising, where he leads the cross-platform technology, telecommunications, finance, real estate and automotive category teams, as well as The Times's national sales offices in San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta. Now in his 17th year at The Times, Mr. Wright will also continue to oversee the conference platform of the business.

Previously Mr. Wright served as group vice president and held various positions with The Times including vice president, group director and managing director, and has managed categories including education, real estate, financial services and telecommunications.
