Sven Michael takes over the helm from Axel Thien
With immediate effect the supervisory board of KBA-MePrint AG has appointed Sven Michael (45) new CEO of this Koenig & Bauer (KBA) subsidiary based in Veitshöchheim, near Würzburg.
He replaces Axel Thien (51), who leaves at his own request to take up a new executive position in European sales at another company. Along with KBA-MePrint's offset systems for waterless UV printing on film, smart cards, data storage devices and other materials, in his new role Sven Michael will focus more strongly on digital and hybrid printing solutions for packaging and other application fields.
Sven Michael has many years of experience in the print industry and he joined the Parent as project manager for the digital printing segment in 2012.
Prior to moving to KBA, the electrical engineering graduate and business economist in electronic development first worked as a controller at a prominent German bank before spending 12 years at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, six of which as head of business operations and consumables in the digital division Linoprint.
KBA-Metronic based at the same site in Veitshöchheim, which successfully produces digital and analogue coding and marking systems for the industry, is a subsidiary of KBA-MePrint and continues to be headed by Oliver Volland and German Stuis.
