The flagship UAE summit for sustainability, CSR Dubai 2014, will be opened by elected chairman Drs Daan Elffers, Founder and CEO of EMG. This was announced today by the organizers of the summit, the Institute for International Research in the Middle East.
Now in its 11th year, the conference has played a major role in shaping the evolution of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility in the Middle East for more than a decade.
The summit brings together a wide and diverse range of thought leaders from across business, government and civil society. Speakers include senior executives from multinationals such as DP World, DUBAL, Intel, Ooredoo and Unilever - as well as high calibre start-ups such as Pi Slice, the MENA's first web-based social platform for microcredit.
This year's honorary guests will include HRH Princess Banderi Al Faisal, Director General of the King Khalid Foundation, who will speak on innovative approaches to CSR.
According to Elffers, who also chaired the recent counterpart conference in Qatar, organizations are in a unique position to make an incredible positive difference in the world when they succeed in truly aligning their principles and values with the way they do business.
"The GCC has all the potential to become a global leader in CSR and sustainability. This high profile CSR summit in Dubai serves as a dynamic platform for exploring ways to capture this potential, accelerating sustainable development and growth for the region, and ultimately worldwide," said Elffers.
CSR Dubai 2014 will take place from 18-21 May at the Address Hotel, Dubai Marina. Following the summit, EMG will conduct the 'certified' workshop on how to implement sustainability as a driver of profit and growth.
