Brazilian GDP grows again and reflects the positive momentum experienced by the country

In recent weeks Brazil released the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) result for 2013. With growth of 0.7% in the fourth quarter, the country reached the final result of 2013 at 2.3%. The numbers released by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) positively surprised analysts and entrepreneurs around the world.

The annual figures show Brazil to be one of the most progressive countries on the world scene. With GDP growth of 2.3% in 2013, Brazil ranked ahead of territories like the United States, South Africa, and the UK (each with growth of 1.9%); Japan (1.6%); Mexico (1.1%); Germany (0.4 %); France (0.3%); Belgium (0.2%); Spain (-1.2 %); Italy (-1.9%); and the average for the Eurozone (-0.4%). Only China (7.7%) and South Korea (2.8%) had better results.

The industry ended 2013 with an increase of 1.3%. Household consumption grew by 2.3%, the tenth consecutive year of expansion and greater proof that, as each day passes, Brazilians are acquiring greater and improved consumer power. The farming sector also grew, by 7%.

The finance minister, Guido Mantega, considered the 2.3% growth in GDP to be a quality result, because it was driven by investments. "Investment has been one of the engines of growth for the Brazilian economy. This result was very satisfactory. It means annualized growth of 2.8%", said Mantega.

Guido Mantega also highlighted the growth of 6.3% of the investments (Gross Fixed Capital Formation) in 2013, which reflects the increase in domestic production for machinery and equipment. The minister also stated that the investments will continue on an upward trajectory, "now stimulated also by the concessions in infrastructure".

With one of the highest GDP growth rates in the world and also one of the lowest unemployment rates, Brazil demonstrates that it is currently the ideal place to invest and ensure high quality results. Industry and heated consumption translate into opportunities for areas like the printing industry.

The figures show that Brazil is taking great strides to consolidate its position as a world power. The printing market has a crucial role in this growth, taking advantage of the increased consumption of Brazilians. With increased buying power, the printing entrepreneur has a higher job demand and, also, new niches within the sector in which to operate.

Within these niches are the areas of visual communication, screen printing, large formats, signage, digital imprinting, print on demand, web-to-print, and digital printing, all of which are covered by FESPA Brasil / ExpoPrint Digital 2015.

The director of APS Feiras & Eventos, Ismael Guarnelli, who promotes the fairs, highlights the continued growth of Brazil. "Growing for the third consecutive year and accruing numbers that are better than the major world powers emphasizes Brazil's role on the world stage. Visionary entrepreneurs must take advantage of these good times and invest in the country, being certain of a positive return."

FESPA Brasil / ExpoPrint Digital will be held between March 18 and 21, 2015, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo. It is the ideal opportunity for entrepreneurs in the industry to support these areas, participating in the fair as an exhibitor or visitor.
