The agreement includes the printing of The Daily Freeman (Kingston, N.Y.), The Record (Troy, N.Y.), and The Saratogian (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), as well as affiliated weekly publications, and utilizes the Times Union's newly installed KBA Commander CL Offset press in the Colonie, N.Y. production facility.

"This type of partnership is directly in line with Digital First Media's business model and our digitally focused strategy," said William Higginson, Executive Vice President of Operations for Digital First Media. "The Times Union's new press allows us to upgrade the print quality of our newspapers while continuing to focus on our digital transformation and the reduction of our legacy infrastructure costs."

"The Times Union welcomes our new partner Digital First Media onto our state-of-the-art press. This relationship solidifies our commitment to the commercial printing component of our diversified business model," said Dan Couto, Vice President of Operations and Integrated Services for the Albany Times Union.

The Times Union's new press produces up to 80,000 full-color, high-resolution copies an hour and is capable of printing up to 64 full-color pages.
