Gulf Print & Pack 2013 opens tomorrow

GPP2013PressConference lTaking place on the 8-11 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Gulf Print & Pack is the only dedicated event for the printing market in the MENA region that reaches the top printers and brand owners.

At a press conference today, Roger Pellow, Chairman from Gulf Print & Pack 2013 emphasized the importance of the show for the region and beyond. Held at the World Trade Center the 13th edition of the show features 300 exhibitors from around the world.

"I'll be happy when we reach the number of 9,000 visitors this time around", states Roger Pellow whose team from Tarsus Group is organising the show for the 2nd time.

The developing population in the region and emerging business opportunities which again means higher production coming to the region thus resulting in higher printing runs and more diversified requirements, printers should be looking for their opportunities, explains Roger Pellow.

"MIS is crucial for digital printing", according to Roger Pellow, therefore printers should look for those on the show floor.

However, not only MIS are some of the hot topics. As Canon and Kodak for example both bring latest equipment and solutions to Dubai.

Both sponsors of the show and the keynote sessions will present at the conference theatre in hall 3.

Canon will look at the results of an independent report to examine the current and future challenges that print buyers are likely to face and to indentify ways in which print providers can better meet their customers' evolving needs. The survey has been carried out in six countries: UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Kenya. More on this by Canon on Monday, April 8 at 2 pm.

"Expanded gamut printing or flexo" is the topic of Kodak's presentation on Monday at 11 am at the theatre. According to the company, self impact, production efficiencies are goals for all brand owners, designers, prepress service providers and printers alike. The session will demonstrate some of the available solutions that can provide enhanced image reproduction, an extended colour gamut, gravure-like print densities and greater design freedom.

Whether printers are looking to expand, replace or just enter the printing industry, Dubai is the place to be in the next days.
