Just a few days ago, a diploma project from a Japanese student, Yugi Mamamoto came to our attention: An inkjet printer that instead of transporting paper from one side to the other "eats" itself through a pile of paper, simply being called "stack".
Inkjet Forum India chose Surat for the Inkjet India Workshop 2013. The workshop on Digital Textile Printing was held on August 2-3, 2013 at The Gateway Athwalines, Surat and was co-presented by MS srl & Fujifilm Dimatix with Atexco as the platinum partner. Innovative ink enables outstanding and eyecatching packaging
I recently travelled to the southern Germany to visit a couple of clients for Inprint 2014 and to attend the LopeC Organic and Printed Electronics event in Munich. I was particularly inspired by a couple of very interesting Industrial Ink initiatives which 'caught my eye' and I wanted to share them with you.

Launching a new product into a new market is an exciting process, especially when it is a natural transition that benefits from a collaborative approach to innovation.
A transition from corrugated handling to corrugate cardboard printing is a logical move. And Italian corrugated handling specialist, Engico, based in Milan, has launched a new packaging print technology that creates innovative performance in corrugated print production.
It appears to be a double bliss for India – with the growing popularity of digitally-printed wedding albums. Lior Meron of InfoTrends has revealed some amazing facts. Christel Lee from Print World Asia reports.
Six-figure-quantity direct mailers seem unwise. Junia Phua, Managing Director of award-winning Generic Print based in Singapore, shares with Christel Lee of Print World Asia how to focus on achieving a higher hit rate with a lesser print run.
Who would have thought that Inkjet technology is one of the oldest technologies? Yes, you hear right. While the printing industry has only discovered it in the last 20 years, it has been around much longer. Sabine A Slaughter investigates its roots.
The triumphant success that inkjet technology has attained within the last 10 to 20 years is based on science and research covering almost 300 years of history. Although commercialisation and professional availability only cover a short period in history, the principles and basis theories referring to inkjet have been researched more than 200 years ago. The French scholar and cleric Abbé Jean Antoine Nollet already published a report in 1749 on the effects exerted by static charge on a drop. As part of his research on osmotic pressure and only a year after, he invented the electroscope, a device for detection of electric charge, this has only been one of the many discoveries the 18th century had to offer.

There was a time when you never had to think about whether your printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines were secure -- they were simply input and output devices.
New business models and ways to work challenge the traditions of printing industry tradeshows
Worldwide there are a lot of trade shows to discover and attend. In addition the four „must" ones plus one: drupa, Print, Ipex, Igas and China Print. Is this set-up still reflecting the industry or just a reminder of the glorious past? Sabine A Slaughter investigates this issue in light of Agfa, HP and Kolbus pulling out of IPEX.
At drupa, CTC Japan is returning for the second time as exhibitor. The Japanese company that has had up to now only monochrome inkjet printers came to the show with its newest invention: the "BookBee 500" for production of textbooks and educational materials.
