Quality triple: diedruckerei.de sets standards

Certified performance in offset and digital printing and finishing

As the first online printing company in Europe, druckerei.de has now also achieved certification for digital printing following the quality seals for offset and finishing. In June 2019, the company received the certificate for the successful PSD certification of its digital printing according to ISO 15311. The e-commerce company has been relying on uniform quality standards and quality assurance in printing since 2006.
The purchasing behaviour of customers has changed in recent years. Orders are placed for shorter runs, more frequent orders are placed and products must be available more quickly. In order to make this possible, diedruckerei.de is increasingly focusing on digital printing. In the meantime, the company produces almost 25 percent of all customer orders in digital printing, in 2014 the share was still five percent. "Over the past two years, we have multiplied our digital printing capacities at our German production site in Neustadt an der Aisch alone. Here, we rely primarily on HP indigo technology, which is appreciated by customers for its high quality," explains Roland Keppler, CEO of the internationally active Onlineprinters Group, one of Europe's top-selling online printers.
PSD seal for digital printing
The Process Standard Digital Printing (PSD) guarantees a defined high print quality in digital printing. The associated quality management comprises all organized and quality-assuring measures in digital printing (e.g. maintenance, quality assurance, training) that serve to improve products, processes or services. In June 2019, diedruckerei.de was awarded the PSD digital printing seal in accordance with the requirements of the digital printing process standard and the ISO 15311 digital printing standard - thus making the quality triple perfect. "Short runs and fast production are the trend, and so is digital printing. Customers expect comparable results for their print jobs and this can only be achieved through certified manufacturing processes. Standards must be created that are independent of production processes," comments Thomas M. Schnitzler of CtP & Print QualityControl, who accompanied the certification process at diedruckerei.de as Fogra Digital Druck Expert.
PSO seal for offset printing
Diedruckerei.de has been guaranteeing certified quality according to the Process Standard Offset Printing (PSO) for more than ten years. The company's production has been certified according to PSO since 2006. PSO is the generally recognized "gold standard" of the printing industry and describes an industrially oriented and standardized procedure for the production of printed products that conforms to the international ISO 12647-2 standard series. With PSO, the quality of printed matter production can be assured from data acquisition to the finished print product. The Ugra, the accredited Swiss competence center for printing and media technology, carried out the certification for diedruckerei.de and awards the Ugra seal according to PSO.
Certified quality in further processing
Druckerei.de also focuses on quality in the further processing of printed products in accordance with ISO 16762 - from folding and cutting to punching and stitching to the final product ready for delivery. In 2017, diedruckerei.de was one of the first printing companies in Europe to have its postpress processes successfully certified and is allowed to carry the Ugra seal for certified product quality according to PSO including postpress. All certification requirements were fulfilled 100 percent.
