Goss Graphic Systems (China) Co., Ltd (GGSC) has agreed a contract for the supply of a WISPRINT 40 web press system with DS Graphics | Universal Wilde (DSG | UW) in Canton, Massachusetts, USA. GGSC will work in close cooperation with imPRESSions Worldwide who will be directly responsible for the integration of all 3rd party auxiliaries including splicers, LED, UV and closed loop registration systems.
Investment in the WISPRINT 40 web press compliments DSG | UW philosophy of embracing technology and innovations which drive business change and have a positive impact on their clients. The WISPRINT 40 project with DSG | UW represents the first direct GGSC web press sale into the USA.
DSG | UW, GGSC and imPRESSions Worldwide pooled their collective knowledge and experience to configure a web press solution which will deliver the flexibility, print quality and efficiency demanded by the market. The WISPRINT 40 semi-commercial 4-page press, will be configured with a high level of press automation to address 64-page book and 16-page magazine markets. The 40,000cph rated press system will incorporate a powerful ink train with 3-form rollers, commercial style narrow gap lock-ups and unit shaftless drive for greater flexibility and reduced makeready times. The WISPRINT 40 press will have a 578mm (22.3/4”) cut-off and 1,016mm (40”) web width. The press will be installed into a new facility located in Canton, Massachusetts. Multipurpose very much defines how the press will be utilised, from high volume, high quality magazine production to a wide range of educational materials. The WISPRINT 40 press will replace three existing web presses.
