Diana printshop with new Rapida 105 from Koenig & Bauer

Second Rapida press in the company
Extensive equipment for packaging printing
Significant increase in productivity

The first sheetfed offset press in Russia from the new Rapida 105 series is in production at Diana printshop in Ivanovo, Russia. The manufacturer of board and corrugated packaging for the food and non-food industries recently commissioned a six-colour coater press with extended delivery. The company now has two Rapida presses, one each in half and medium format.
Pile heights up to 1.6 metres
The Rapida 105 produces in a maximum sheet format of 740 x 1,050 mm and is set 555 mm higher for packaging printing. This means it can handle piles up to 1.6 metres high. Other features include CleanTronic washing systems, EasyClean ink fountain coatings, a retractable non-stop roller blind and VariDry IR/TL drying in the delivery and delivery extension. Inline colour control with QualiTronic ColorControl ensures high print quality of the printed and coated sheets. A strip inserter also separates good sheets from waste, which is produced, for example, during the start-up of the Rapida 105. The Rapida 105 receives press presetting data from Diana's pre-press department via CIPLink X.
Diana was founded in 2008 and is one of the most dynamically developing companies in the industry. Since Ivanovo is a centre of the textile industry, packaging for it occupies a large share within the product portfolio. In addition, Ikea and Askona, the largest mattress manufacturer in Russia, are among the company's customers.
Strength in complex packaging designs
Much of the packaging the company produces deviates from the standard folding box design. Diana has its own packaging development department and sees its strength in the area of complicated packaging designs. Other areas of focus include high colour, interesting finishes and microwave products.
Diana is growing both in terms of product quality and production volume. Director Oleg Gospodinov sums up: "In the last two years, the amount of cardboard and coated paper we consume has increased threefold. Our production and storage areas have tripled as well." Modern Rapida technology has played a major part in this.
