Vaibhav Plasto prepares for duo of BOBST NOVA RS 5003 presses

The Indian company will be installing the two new BOBST gravure presses to expand its market reach, keep up with the competition and deliver highest quality flexible packaging to its discerning customers in the food and beverage sectors.

Based in central India, Vaibhav Plasto is a fast growing group of companies with a turnover of more than 1000 crore and over 2000 employees. In 2007, the group diversified by creating a new division under the name Vaibhav Plasto Printing & Packaging Pvt. Ltd, which is located in the Hingna Industrial Area, in Nagpur Maharashtra. The group operates in two verticals, RC Plasto Tanks and Pipes which is managed by Neelesh and Vishal Agrawal, while flexible printing, packaging and shrink sleeve labels business division is managed by Vaibhav Agrawal, the Director of Vaibhav Plasto Printing & Packaging.
The packaging division is headed up by Director Vaibhav Agrawal, who oversees the film extrusion operation and the production of printed flexible packaging products, including laminated films, shrink sleeves and films, pouches and wraparound labels to customers across more than 27 states in India and beyond. Spread over a large space, Vaibhav Plasto is one of the most advanced flexible printing and packaging operations with an impressive inventory of the latest European machines. The total production capacity currently exceeds 1000 tonnes per month, but plans are under way to add more capacity with a brand new plant spread over an even larger area. “We are investing more than 100 crore in first phase of our expansion and is further committed to investing 455 crore with the Maharashtra Government,” said Mr Agrawal.
The company’s installed India’s first BOBST RS 5002 gravure press in 2015. Trusting BOBST technology, productivity and flexibility, it has recently placed an order for two new BOBST NOVA RS 5003 gravure presses due for delivery and installation in 2022, and early 2023, respectively. Mr Agrawal said, “We wanted to expand our market reach with the best machines available. After extensive research, we found that the major players in the market were using BOBST machines and that many of them had made repeat purchases.” He added, “Our own previous experience with the service and support from the BOBST team was also very good, so we felt that BOBST would be the right fit for our plans to expand further and that their support will be essential. In addition, the RS 5003 demonstrated much higher capabilities than similar gravure presses.”

Easy to operate, fast to make ready and change over, it features BOBST’s unique solutions for sustainable operation with minimum waste for water-based or solvent-based ink printing applications. “Market prices for finished products are very competitive, so we need excellent machines with high productivity and accuracy for consistent output and low wastage,” explained Mr Agrawal. “Our production capacity is set to reach 2500 tonnes per month of flexible packaging with the addition of the two new presses and multilayer plants.” He concluded, “One of the biggest advantages of BOBST is that they have multiple machines of the same model in the market and an excellent proven track record. We noticed that other machine manufacturers are yet to build such a history with their machines.”
