Sustainability for the future

Metsä Board presents its sustainable range at the FEFCO Technical Seminar

Metsä Board, a leading European manufacturer of premium fresh fibre board and a Metsä Group company, will present its sustainable, high-quality white kraftliner at the FEFCO Technical Seminar 2019.
Key topics in the packaging sector include reducing CO2 emissions, ensuring product safety and complete transparency of origin. Already in August, Metsä Board published its sustainability targets for 2030, which include the company's commitment to end fossil fuel use in its board mills by 2030 and reduce fossil CO2 emissions to zero. The Finnish manufacturer has thus set itself the most ambitious targets for the entire industry.
As the main raw material, Metsä Board uses renewable and 100 percent traceable wood from sustainably managed northern European forests for the production of its board qualities.
"All white kraftliners from Metsä Board offer the necessary safety for direct food contact as well as outstanding quality consistency and performance. Thanks to their low weight per unit area, the ecological footprint can be reduced throughout the entire supply chain - without compromising strength," explains Veijo Korkalainen, VP Sales WKL (White Kraftliner) at Metsä Board.
