Germany-wide conversion to green electricity

Reducing CO2 emissions and thus making a sustainable contribution to climate protection is equally important to Papier Union and Papyrus Deutschland, which will soon merge under the umbrella of the Inapa Group. The joint management has therefore decided to switch the electricity tariffs at almost all warehouse and office locations of both companies to green electricity.

Only at a few locations do landlords still have contracts with electricity suppliers that cannot be converted at the present time. However, since 1.1.2020, over 90% of the electricity requirements of Papier Union and Papyrus Deutschland have been covered on the basis of climate-neutral electricity from renewable energies. This means that the companies will save more than 3,000 tons of CO2 in the future compared to a supply from the German power grid (based on the statistical mean value of 583g CO2 per kWh).
Thomas Schimanowski, CEO of Papier Union and Papyrus Germany, on the conversion: "In our view, the merger of our two companies and the resulting increase in energy consumption also increases our responsibility for the environment. By using green electricity, we are making our contribution to achieving climate policy objectives while at the same time fulfilling our own claim to act sustainably".
