Linxens announces a first order for eco-friendly recycled PET-G inlays from Mexican card manufacturer

Launched at the end of November 2019, Linxens is delighted to see that the market is adopting its environment-friendly recycled PET-G solution, part of its EcoLAM® product range.

Linxens, a leading technology company providing component-based solutions for secure connections and authentication, promotes EcoLAM®, a range of recycled, renewable and recyclable materials, compatible with current smartcard processes.

This innovation establishes best practices in making smartcards more sustainable, reducing the first use of PVC plastics for the manufacture of contactless and dual-interface cards and helping card manufacturers to reduce carbon footprint.

“Linxens is committed to proposing eco-friendly solutions to its clients. We are convinced that the current solutions which use virgin PVC are not sustainable, and we want our recycled PET-G offer to become the future standard for our markets. We thank Thomas Greg & Sons de México, a valued customer, for supporting our initiative with an order for the manufacture of contactless cards,” comments Arnaud Brunetière, Senior Vice-President FTA (Finance Transport Access) Business Unit.

With over 6 billion payment cards manufactured every year, Linxens’ recycled PET-G inlays will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the smart card industry and to creating an environmentally responsible supply chain. EcoLAM®’s recycled PET-G solution is recyclable and is available at scale. Additionally, the recycled PET-G solution does not release toxic or regulated substances throughout its entire life cycle.
