New level of process efficiency in bookbinding with adhesives with polymer technology

The digitalisation of production processes also has an impact on the bookbinding industry. With increasing cost pressure, it is becoming increasingly important for bookbinders to design their processes as efficiently as possible. To do this, they need strong partners who deliver innovative solutions. As an adhesives manufacturer, Henkel has been supporting the bookbinding industry for many years with efficiency-enhancing adhesive solutions. With the introduction of the new Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra, the company is continuing this success story. The adhesive is suitable for all melting systems and is universally applicable for various binding applications. Together with its high thermal stability, Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra helps bookbinders to increase the quality of their products and reduce costs.

"The Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra adhesive fits seamlessly into the Henkel product family for bookbinding applications between our PUR and EVA solutions. During development, we focused in particular on increasing process efficiency and reducing costs for our customers. This is particularly important in view of the increasing cost pressure in the industry," explains Mario Eckers, Regional Sales Director Packaging Adhesives at Henkel.

New polymers serve as the basis for the Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra. In the field of further development of thermoplastics, Henkel can draw on a wealth of experience in end-of-line applications and in the side glue market. "In the field of advanced hot melt adhesives, we have seen growth of over six percent in the packaging industry in recent years. This development illustrates the advantages of switching from EVA to high-performance hot melt adhesives, which are also clearly evident in other industries. We therefore know that with the Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra we are creating real added value for our customers," adds Eckers.

Henkel focuses on customer needs in bookbinding

With the Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra, Henkel is expanding its portfolio of high-performance hotmelt adhesives for bookbinding applications. The Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra is characterized by its universality. This means there is no need for new investments in machines, as the adhesive is suitable for all melting systems and therefore no machine changeover times are required. In addition, the quality of the end products can be checked immediately due to its high initial strength. This is also significantly enhanced by high heat and cold resistance, increased flexibility and high adhesion even on substrates that are difficult to process. All in all, the new adhesive enables not only improved end product quality but also a low application weight and high yield, thus contributing to significant savings in overall costs. In addition, the high melt stability of the adhesive leads to less coking and, by reducing cleaning intervals, allows higher machine utilization and shorter equipment service lives. With the introduction of Technomelt GA 3980 Ultra, Henkel is providing its bookbinding customers with another high-performance hotmelt adhesive solution to make processes more efficient and thus help them to stay ahead of the competition.
