Berberich becomes International Paper's distribution partner for Arktika and Alaska Plus in Germany and Austria

Paper wholesaler Carl Berberich GmbH will be adding International Paper's chromo board brands Arktika® and Alaska® Plus to its range from the end of October. Headquartered in Heilbronn, Carl Berberich GmbH supplies its customers via 8 service centres in Germany and Austria.

"We are looking forward to working with Carl Berberich GmbH and the resulting improvement in the availability of our well-known chromo board brands in Germany and Austria," said Torsten Lohmar, Sales Manager Board for DACH at International Paper. "Both products offer a unique consistency of quality. Arktika® is ideal for graphic applications, while Alaska® Plus enables high production speeds in the manufacture of folding boxes for a wide range of applications".
Arktika® is a leading GC1 brand ideally suited for graphic arts, publishing and high quality folding carton applications. Alaska® Plus is International Paper's lightweight GC2 board, which is used, among other segments, for folding cartons for pharmaceutical products and packaging for beauty care and food products.

"Both cartonboard brands are very well established in the market and we look forward to further expanding the cooperation and business with our customers as well as with International Paper".
Arktika® and Alaska® Plus are ideal for offset, gravure and flexo printing. In addition to high printing performance, both products are also convincing in creasing and die-cutting as well as all conceivable finishing techniques such as embossing, hot and cold foil stamping and varnishing.
Arktika® is available in a basis weight range from 200 to 350 g/m2, while Alaska® Plus is available from 190 g/m2 up to 330 g/m2.
