Two new BYK additives ring in the year 2021

BYK-329, a silicone-containing surface additive for both solvent-free and solvent-borne systems, is the new BYK product on the market that greatly reduces surface tension, especially in floor coatings and general industrial coatings, and promotes leveling and defoaming properties. In the defoamer line, BYK-092 is a new VOC-free, silicone-containing additive for aqueous paint systems, printing inks, and adhesives in the portfolio of this specialty chemicals manufacturer.

BYK defoamer for a particularly wide range of applications
BYK-092 is a highly effective defoamer for aqueous systems, especially for clear coats and high gloss systems. Yet it can also be used to excellent effect in matted and pigmented systems. Thanks to its balanced compatibility, this product affects neither transparency nor gloss. BYK-092 is effective not only in all of the customary applications, but also in difficult applications such as HVLP and roller coatings. This additive can be introduced at any time during production.
This new BYK product is likewise recommended for defoaming printing inks and overprint varnishes, and can even counteract microfoaming. Neither the transparency nor the gloss is affected.
Furthermore, BYK-092 is also suitable for defoaming adhesives and sealants. Its strong defoaming effects and its long shelf life are only two factors here that make this new product ideal for adhesives.
User-friendly surface additive
BYK-329 greatly reduces the surface tension in coating systems, thus promoting their leveling and defoaming properties. The product profile is rounded off by enhanced substrate wetting, specifically in two-pack epoxy resin systems for floor coatings.
This new BYK additive is suitable for both solvent-free and solvent-borne two-pack epoxy resin, polyurethane, and polyaspartic coatings. Even small added quantities serve to enhance the leveling and defoaming properties.
