Mondi, a leading global packaging and paper manufacturer, has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze certification level for its uncoated fine papers from its mills in Austria, Slovakia and Russia. This makes Mondi the first supplier of such an extensive range of uncoated fine papers to receive Cradle to Cradle certification, which marks the transition from a linear to a circular economy. The range, which meets the high standards and specifications of this certification scheme, includes the well-known Color Copy and PERGRAPHICA® brands, NAUTILUS® recycled papers and a comprehensive office paper portfolio.

Thanks to the new Cradle to Cradle certification, we now offer a particularly wide range of environmentally friendly products. Cradle to Cradle Certified® is a globally recognised standard for safe, responsible materials and products in the spirit of the circular economy. The holistic approach follows nature's principle of reusing raw materials within a cycle and avoiding waste. The Cradle to Cradle certification is awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, which promotes the circular economy. The certificate is awarded to products that have a positive impact on people and the environment. Under the Cradle to Cradle programme, sustainability is assessed in five categories: Material Health, Recycling, Air Pollution Control and Climate Protection, Responsible Use of Water and Soil, and Social Responsibility. Mondi's range of uncoated fine papers was assessed in all five categories and assigned Gold to Bronze levels - resulting in a final Bronze certification level overall.
