Metsä Group starts pre-engineering project for Muoto wood fibre packaging products

After promising results from the ongoing demonstration phase, Metsä Group has decided to conduct, in parallel with the demo phase, a pre-engineering project related to a possible first commercial-scale factory. Muoto™ packages are renewable and recyclable bioproducts that can be utilised in, e.g., takeaway, berry, tray, and combo packaging.


Toyo Ink India to Boost Adhesive Production Capacity by 3.5X

Aiming for top share of solvent-based adhesives in Indian market by 2026
TOYO INK INDIA PTE. LTD., a member of the Japan-based chemicals manufacturer artience group (formerly Toyo Ink Group), today announced plans to expand its production capacity for solvent-based adhesives at its manufacturing site in Gujarat, India. A new production facility will be built on-site at the Gujarat plant as part of expansion to meet rising local demand. The plant is slated to begin operations in April 2026 and will help to boost the Gujarat site’s adhesive capacity by 3.5 times its current output.

Metsä Board will not invest in a new Kaskinen folding boxboard mill

Metsä Board announced on 15 September 2022 that it will start pre-engineering for a new folding boxboard mill in Kaskinen, Finland. The pre-engineering phase included technical design, design of infrastructure and logistics solutions, tendering for the main equipment as well as financial analysis of the project. The pre-engineering also included an environmental impact assessment and an application for an environmental permit.

Valmet to deliver a wide range of shutdown services to Ittihad Paper Mill in United Arab Emirates

Ittihad Paper Mill (IPM) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has again selected Valmet as the main supplier of field services to its annual shutdown in 2024. The shutdown will take place at the end of July 2024.
The order was included in Valmet's orders received of the fourth quarter 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed.
