Hansaprint, an innovative and leading printing house in the Nordic region and a part of the TS-Group has already signed up to be the first business in the world to order the new Ricoh Pro VC60000. It is a new generation, continuous feed, inkjet technology platform for graphic arts, designed to excel at direct mail, book printing and marketing materials. The Hansaprint order includes; an undercoat unit which will enable it to print on a broad variety of media including offset coated stocks; a protector coat unit to deliver durable "scratch & scuff resistance" on coated paper; and a hot air knife dryer which ensure ink dries quickly, in a power efficient way.
Peter Williams, Executive Vice President and Head of the Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh Europe, says, "We are extremely excited about - and committed to - the future of graphic arts. We believe that our new system will set new standards and enable businesses in commercial printing to expand their services portfolio in ways they never previously thought possible. It will further bolster Ricoh's growth in the sector and the digital transformation of the industry. We are also delighted to be working with such a pioneering client like Hansaprint who is making the future of print a reality with its vision for cross media applications, direct mail and book printing."
Jukka Saariluoma, Business Unit Director, Hansaprint, says, "Our clients are asking us for greater flexibility, higher print quality and shorter lead times. Ricoh's new innovation enables us to meet these requirements. The Pro VC60000 will be the best quality platform on the market, with highly versatile and world class industrial production capabilities. Leveraging our extensive skills and experience at Hansaprint, we will enable our clients to communicate more effectively and drive an improved business result."
The Ricoh Pro VC60000 is a modular based system and has been designed to be the most versatile colour inkjet available on the market. It is powered by Ricoh's own Digital Front End, the TotalFlow Print Server R600A, designed for demanding graphic arts environments and applications. Ricoh believes the platform will set a new benchmark for quality in its class as a result of its unique multi-drop inkjet technology, achieving a physical resolution of up to 1200x1200 dpi with dynamic variable drop size within each pixel, providing significant additional perceived print quality. It provides support for uncoated, coated offset, digital, treated and recycled papers. The Ricoh Pro VC60000 will also meet the high productivity needs of commercial printers offering fast speeds, producing nearly 100,000 A4 images per hour. It is the ideal investment for medium to large graphic arts printers seeking to future proof their business and reach new customers with new innovative applications.
In addition to enabling unprecedented quality, the Pro VC60000 features Ricoh developed long lasting print heads and high viscosity water-based pigment inks which ensure that graphic arts business owners can control costs with a reliable system that delivers maximum uptime. It will also follow the same strategy being adopted by the successful InfoPrint 5000 series, whereby the investment is future-proofed with an ongoing development plan and continuous upgrade path.
