Ricoh Europe to open new Customer Experience Centre for Production Print Clients

Ricoh Europe today announced it will be opening a new Customer Experience Centre for production print clients. The centre will be a state-of-the-art, working print production centre of excellence and feature integrated solutions from Ricoh and its partners that will allow visitors to see a variety of end-to-end workflows and production processes first-hand as they might exist in their own facilities. The Ricoh Customer Experience Centre will be built within the existing Ricoh Products Ltd. factory in Telford, UK and will officially open on 4 November 2014.

In a dynamic production printing environment, every print service provider has a unique set of challenges that must be addressed to future-proof their businesses. Ricoh's entire production printing portfolio reflects a lean manufacturing 'smart factory' concept that assures maximum productivity and efficiency from prepress to the bindery. The new Customer Experience Centre will help clients identify business and production improvements, allowing them to walk through every process as they explore, test and confirm optimum solutions for their businesses. It will also demonstrate how those improvements can be implemented seamlessly with Ricoh continuous feed, cut sheet and wide format printers, combined with Ricoh and third-party finishing equipment and software solutions.

"This new Customer Experience Centre reinforces Ricoh's commitment to the European and worldwide print production market and will demonstrate our manufacturing excellence across multiple platforms and markets," explains Peter Williams, Executive Vice President, Head of Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh Europe. "Much more than a showroom; it is a working environment that will allow visitors to experience state-of-the-art production processes and techniques. We are looking forward to helping clients experience, in a highly visual way, exactly how Ricoh can help them add value, increase efficiency, improve operations and take a more proactive approach to sustainability."

The new centre will make it more convenient for existing and potential clients throughout Europe to access these valuable resources, including, for the first time in Europe, Ricoh continuous feed printing solutions. In addition, Ricoh will use the centre to conduct internal and external training, and to test processes, substrates and production approaches that push boundaries and maximise client value.

The new facility will also feature a state-of-the-art customer briefing centre and operate as a knowledge, test, and research & development centre, showcasing Ricoh's specialist inkjet development laboratory and enabling Ricoh to continually assess its solutions portfolio. It will expand Ricoh's European Media Qualification programme to become a test centre for all continuous feed, cut sheet and wide format media from European suppliers. Ricoh partners will also be able to use the Centre to help jointly develop effective integration of solutions to create a seamless client workflow. The new European centre complements the new global Customer Innovation Centre in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
