Etikett.de adds HP Indigo 8000 to its machine park

Etikett.de installed a new HP Indigo 8000 at the end of August. The B2B label printer from Föhren specialises in the production of adhesive, roll, pressure-sensitive and wet-glue labels and is responding to the growing demand for digitally printed labels and the increasing demands on productivity with this new installation.

The HP Indigo 8000 is the industry's most productive digital press for narrow web label printing, offering speeds of up to 80m/min in multicolor. It is also suitable for extremely long and demanding jobs. "With the HP Indigo 8000, we've moved to the top of the digital label production class and doubled our productivity. Now we can produce job sizes beyond 3,000 linear meters reliably and in the usual quality," says Michael Wey, Managing Director of etikett.de.
The company, which has been working with HP since its founding in 2011, has integrated several HP Indigos into its machinery over the years. The decisive factor right from the start was the outstanding print quality, which is comparable to the quality of gravure printing, and the ability to produce labels ordered via the online shop within the shortest possible time. Initially, etikett.de mainly produced wine labels on an HP Indigo 4500. Thanks to the large variety of substrates, the existing label portfolio was quickly expanded, followed by further HP Indigos in 2013 and 2017 to meet the demand for short runs.
"Due to our Internet affinity, we have many startups among our customers. These often grow rapidly and quickly to the point where print runs tend to move towards flexo. With the HP Indigo 8000, we can now easily handle these jobs and we don't unnecessarily block capacity on our "small" machines. Thanks to the speed and capacity of the machine, we can satisfy our customers in the long run".
Our experience with the proven HP Indigo technology was one of the reasons for investing in the new HP Indigo 8000: "Our employees have been familiar with it for years and can start right away with the new machine," says James Nilles, also Managing Director of etikett.de.
In addition to conventional label printing, etikett.de now also offers design services such as HP Mosaic. This technology enables the automatic creation of designs based on combined basic patterns. "Our customers are enthusiastic about the quality and speed with which we process their orders. We are already seeing a shift of jobs that used to be flexo and are now digitally produced. We expect this shift to continue and with the investment in the HP Indigo 8000 we are well prepared for the future," Wey says.
