Beltz Grafische Betriebe GmbH invested: Reorientation of the digital printing plant

beitzBeltz Grafische Betriebe GmbH is realigning its digital printing plant and investing in new production systems. Following last year's addition of a Heidelberg SM XL 106-4-P and a new plate imaging system to the offset printing plant, the production portfolio is now complemented by a high-speed inkjet web press and efficient digital processing lines. In this configuration, the complete system with machines from HP, Hunkeler and Aster is unique in Germany.

The new HP T240 HD web press expands Beltz's product portfolio to include short- and medium-run colour productions. With its quality and performance, it perfectly complements the capacities and requirements of offset printing and represents added value for customers.
With the new processing systems from Hunkeler and Aster, Beltz has found an efficient solution for book block production: The claim to produce high-quality hard and softcover books is now guaranteed for shorter runs and digital processing methods. The new systems meet all product requirements for perfect bound and thread-stitched books, which customers also expect in conventional production methods.
The current investments amount to approximately 2.5 million EUR. The company intends to concentrate on further core processes in bookbinding. The ability to produce books directly from the digitally printed roll represents an extraordinary development in the entire industry. In its composition, the plant in Bad Langensalza is currently the most modern and efficient production facility on the German market.
"Despite corona-related changes in production, we have held on to the investment," emphasizes Managing Director Marianne Rübelmann. "The optimization of production processes is essential in view of smaller runs and the desire for faster availability on the part of customers. With the current system, the Beltz Graphic Companies can react perfectly to these requirements".
