Brighter future for Colours Factory with Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1

Web-to-print and advertising giant invests in inkjet B2 press to bring down costs and grow profits

Colours Factory, Poland’s largest web-to-print company, has replaced two digital production printers with a Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 sheetfed UV inkjet B2+ press in a move that will save a significant amount of production costs this year, as well as boosting productivity.
The investment in the AccurioJet KM-1 will add further firepower to Colours Factory’s 8,000 sqm modern machine park in Pila where production capacity is over 1.5 million sheets a day. The company uses a multiple of printing technologies, including offset, digital and large-format printing, and is dedicated to the advertising industry.
The new Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 press will have pride of place in a special air-conditioned building on the park. Using energy-efficient UV LED technology and the ability to print on a wider range of normal stock paper, both uncoated and coated materials, Colours Factory is projecting to save a significant amount annually in running costs. It also expects to increase uptime by around the same amount with 24-hour production. Another important benefit is that UV printing will be a more scratch-resistant process.
Colours Factory, which also has a base in Wroclaw in Poland, operates globally. It employs 500 people staff and also has 100 qualified advertising assemblers across Poland. The company offers comprehensive, state-of-the-art products and services to customers.
“Good service for our customers means professionalism and creating partnerships for us, so that cooperation is a pleasure, not a necessity. We welcome this new collaboration with Konica Minolta and look forward to working closely, as we adapt to the new world in which we all live. The introduction of AccurioJet KM-1 into our modern machine park for offset, large format and digital printing will enable us more opportunities to fullfil technologically diverse orders all in one place. This is a response to the increasing expectations of our customers as we continue to develop our web-to-print presence. The versatility and reliability of the KM-1 will further guarantee the consistency of all materials with top class printing, regardless of the type of substrate, as well as help us bring down costs in an increasingly competitive world.
“In a new world where web-to-print is increasingly important, we proved through extensive testing that Colours Factory could save a significant amount in production costs in the first year alone. Providing a scratch-resistant solution was also vital. With lead times now often less than 24 hours, a fast and reliable service is critical. You’re not selling a product, you’re selling the space on the paper. The AccurioJET KM-1 delivers and will also help them to expand into new markets,2 states Lukasz Wachala, Head of Sales Industrial Printing B2 in Cluster East, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Poland
„As a leader in print transformation and production printing, we provide expertise and work closely in partnership with customers who are looking for new ways to reduce costs, yet still look to develop new opportunities. The AccurioJet KM-1 will help Colours Factory to rethink possibilities and will provide real business expansion possibilities through high quality, reliable production and extensive media capabilities," says Hidetoshi Omo, Head of Center of Competence, KM-1 at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe
