Breathe fire into your commercial print production

By Sander Sondaal, Ricoh Graphic Communications, Ricoh Europe

Soon we will be revealing more of the dragon – the RICOH Pro Z75 B2 sheetfed inkjet system.

In readiness we have teased innovative technologies featured in the highly productive B2 sheet fed inkjet press running aqueous inks.
We have gradually revealed design evolutions supporting hyper relevant short run cost effective data driven print and the acceleration of the transition from offset to digital.
Across social media we have introduced developments that will enable today’s graphic arts specialists to respond in an agile way to changing market needs.
Highlighting how the new and enhanced capabilities drive high productivity, image quality and flexibility. They include:
Print heads – Ricoh 1200 dpi piezo print heads ensure high productivity, reliable durability and maximum uptime. The dynamic drop on demand ink jetting of droplets as small as two picolitres delivers superlative quality. The liquid cooling system ensures consistent colour output and increased print head life for peace of mind.
Inks – Ricoh-developed, quick drying, anti rub, water-based inks deliver an enhanced colour gamut and elevated text quality. They work with Ricoh’s Ink Estimator Tool to accurately predict job costings and enable the right pricing for margin protection.
Media flexibility – Combining the use of existing offset coated stock with a B2 plus sheet size drives application expansion and productivity while reducing costs. It also makes the switch between offset and digital more efficient. There is no need to trim or cut which reduces waste.
Data –The new digital front end enables connectivity to different workflows eliminating the need to invest in other solutions while standardised media management allows the use of existing imposition schemes. Productivity is maximised, training time is decreased and labour costs are lowered through the use of the familiar intuitive user interface.
The highly productive RICOH Pro Z75 has been developed to support digital transformation.
It will help commercial printers deliver a greater range of applications, from personalised catalogues and data driven communications to books, photo applications and light packaging jobs, at highly competitive price points.
