ACTEGA Metal Print announces partnership with A B Graphic International

ABG is first business partner for EcoLeaf metallization units
ACTEGA Metal Print GmbH (AMP) today announced the signing of a global cooperation agreement with the world's leading supplier of print finishing systems, A B Graphic International (ABG), for the marketing, direct sales and customer service of its sustainable and cost-effective metallization technology EcoLeaf™ - initially in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

EcoLeaf is a new digital solution for the lucrative metal finishing of self-adhesive labels in a wide range of industries and markets. When sold by ABG, the ACTEGA solution will be installed on the new Digicon Series 3 digital print finishing systems or retrofitted on the customer's existing printing presses. EcoLeaf uses only the exact amount of metallic pigments required for the respective printing area. This eliminates the need for hot and cold foils and the associated waste. EcoLeaf also helps to reduce the costs of metal finishing.
"From our point of view, EcoLeaf is a new way of metallization that allows our customers to differentiate themselves from their competitors with new and attractive print finishes," says Matt Burton, Sales Director of A B Graphic International.
"Sustainability remains a high priority for companies. In this respect, EcoLeaf will certainly make an enormously positive contribution. As such, we believe that AMP technology is a perfect addition to our product portfolio and will add value to our customers as a cost-effective solution for high quality finishing," Burton said.
The basis of the EcoLeaf technology is a silver pigment that can be overprinted to create a rainbow of metallic colors, including gold. The EcoLeaf technology is integrated into finishing systems, analogue or digital presses. EcoLeaf consists of a printed "trigger image" and a metallization unit that transfers a wafer-thin layer of metallic pigments to the trigger image.
Jan Franz Allerkamp, Managing Director of ACTEGA Metal Print, explains: "With more than 65 years of experience in postpress processing in the label industry and 11,000 installed products at 2,500 customers worldwide, AGB is without doubt a great partner for us. We are also delighted that AGB not only sees EcoLeaf as a great opportunity, but also shares our vision for greater sustainability in the printing industry. So soon after the announcement of our first beta customer, Kolbe-Coloco, the appointment of ABG is an important building block in our plan to launch EcoLeaf".
