As the 1990s came to a close, Schibsted Trykk in Oslo and Bergen were amongst the MSD pioneers. For both newspaper printing companies, the courage to take a risk and invest in a completely new, almost untried technology has paid off. They honed their long-term competitive edge.
Apart from certain extensions, such as the integration of a StreamFold quarterfold line, system structures at both locations remained unchanged. A major update is now due in the bundling sector. Parts of the stacking system are set for replacement with MultiStack technology and Navigator control. In Oslo, a further growth in the case of semi-commercials necessitated an adjustment to the bundling system; in Bergen changed distribution structures were decisive. Technology manager Martin Braseth considered that maintaining a competitive edge assumes the use of the best technology available, with a strong and dependable partner in the background. In Oslo and Bergen, the management teams therefore agree that, over the long term, they can best handle their tasks with Ferag.
