New bookletmaker for Canon imagePRESS: BLM5000 series from Plockmatic

The imagePRESS V1000 and imagePRESS V1350 digital toner production presses are getting an important finishing addition: the BLM5000 series from Plockmatic for booklet making. The BLM5000 booklet finishers join the Plockmatic BLM 550+ and BLM 50/35 systems in Canon's range of high-performance third-party finishing systems.

The new solution will enable the creation of customised and highly automated end-to-end production applications. The BLM5000 series is available now through Canon Germany and authorised resellers for in-line configuration with an imagePRESS V1000 or imagePRESS V1350.
Designed specifically for customers with medium to high production volumes, the system offers the ability to produce A4 booklets in both landscape and portrait formats. It can also produce booklets with creasing, square booklet spine and edge trim. This avoids damage to the printed image on the spine due to folding. The BLM5000 is available with stitching heads in versions for 50 or 35 sheets and with stitching wire spools in the version for 35 sheets. Print companies that can also produce long formats with an imagePRESS can expand their range of products considerably with this booklet finisher. The broader application mix creates added value for users and customers alike.
Patrick Bischoff, Director Marketing & Strategy at Canon Germany comments: "Profitability and productivity are the focus for print service providers. In addition to high-quality, investment-proof quality systems, cost-efficient inline finishing solutions are a decisive factor for success. Canon imagePRESS production presses are capable of delivering an unprecedented range of substrates and sheet formats with exceptional image quality. This is precisely what makes the systems ideal for producing large volumes of high-quality brochures in individual standard formats, as well as brochures in eye-catching landscape formats with an automated solution such as that offered by the BLM5000 series."
